How do I configure SPF for my sending domain?

Updated Nov 2, 2026

SPF lists the servers allowed to send email for your domain. A domain must have only one SPF record.

Steps

  1. Go to Email Accounts, open the MailRush email account's menu (⋮) and choose View DNS. (This option appears for MailRush email accounts on a domain you manage elsewhere.)
  2. In DNS setup, find the SPF record card and copy the Value to publish.
  3. If the card shows Add MailRush IP, you already have an SPF record: replace its value with the combined value shown. Do not add a second SPF record.
  4. At your DNS provider, publish the TXT record with the Name / host shown (@ is the domain itself).
  5. Back in DNS setup, click Check DNS. The card shows Ready when it matches.

Your own email accounts

  • For accounts connected with Use My Own Email, the SPF value comes from your email provider. MailRush does not check the DNS of these accounts.

Troubleshooting

The card says Not found.
The record is not visible in public DNS yet. DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate.
The card says Needs update or Review.
Compare Currently published with Value to publish and correct the record. Two SPF records on one domain make SPF fail.
