GoDaddy.com DNS tutorial for MailRush.io

Goddady.com’s DNS service is a common option for our users to manage their domain’s DNS zone. In this tutorial, we will show you how to configure your MailRush.io DNS records at Godaddy’s DNS Manager.

MailRush.io will require the following DNS records:

1. A TXT record for the SPF entry of the main domain
2. A TXT record for the SPF entry of the subdomain
3. An A record for the subdomain used in your MailRush.io account
4. An MX record for the subdomain used in your MailRush.io account
5. A TXT record for the public DKIM key

In addition to the above records, other support DNS records will be required. We do not mention them in this tutorial as every case is different from user to user.

To view your DNS settings login to your MailRush.io Dashboard and click on “Settings” at the top menu. You will get a screen as shown below:

Under Authentication Details, you will get a set of records you are going to implement at your GoDaddy’s DNS Manager.

1- A TXT record for the SPF entry of the main domain

For our example, we are going to be using the domain name dkex123.email.

Add a TXT record for the @ host with the following SPT record. Advise that if you use other email servers or email services you should add them to the SPF string. We are assuming you are not using any other external servers by adding the value

v=spf1 +a +mx include:_spf.mailrush.io ~all

2- A TXT record for the SPF entry of the subdomain

From the Authentication Details in our example, we know that the subdomain provided by MailRush.io is: peehh.dkex123.email

Add a TXT record for the host peehh with the following value:

v=spf1 +a +mx include:_spf.mailrush.io ~all

3- An A record for the subdomain used in your MailRush.io account

Add an A record for your subdomain to point the provided IP address from the Authentication Details section.

4- An MX record for the subdomain used in your MailRush.io account

For the MX record, we are going to use the host as peehh to point peehh.dkex123.email with a priority of 10.

5- A TXT record for the public DKIM key

For the public DKIM add a TXT record with host as:

default._domainkey.peehh.

Do not forget to replace the peehh to your subdomain’s host.
